Isn't she George Santos's mother?

No, I think his mother survived the Holocaust and then died on 9/11.

Yeah, that's his story.

I'm sure it will entertain his cellmate.

Anyway, doesn't matter… I'm just going to say she is. Apparently, one can say anything.

My brother ran the 2nd ever NYC Marathon. 1971? Six laps around Central Park. @200 runners. Finishers got Italian ices.

He and I watched several NYCM's (don't you hate how everything is "acronymized" these days) in the city - late 1970's.

We would start at 1st Ave and watch the men's leaders coming off 59th St Bridge.

Then jog to the finish line in the park.

There were nowhere near the crowds of recent years.

One year, we staked out a spot 100 yards from the finish and waited for the leaders.

We heard some beautiful, etherial music being played. Behind us on a grassy area, a group of musicians slightly amplified.

A sign "Sri Chinmoy Center - NY" in front of the seven or so musicians.

Sitting cross-legged on the grass was Carlos Santana - unmistakable. He was a devotee of the guru.

One enchanting tune stuck with me for years.

I found it somehow(!) in the internet age with some search I tried - it had made such an impression. I never forgot the tune.

Enjoy, Paul
